Terms of Service

01Acceptance & eligibility

These terms are a binding agreement between you and Speed Develop, the independent developer of Split Today. You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) and able to form a binding contract to use the app. If you use Split Today on behalf of a group, you confirm you’re allowed to do so.

02What Split Today is (and isn’t)

“Mark as settled” records that a payment happened outside the app; no funds are transferred, held, or processed by us. Split Today is not a payment service, wallet, bank, escrow, or financial adviser, and balances shown are informational — resolving actual debts is between you and your group.

03Your account

You sign in with Google. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your Google sign-in secure. Keep your display information accurate so your group can recognize you. You can delete your account anytime in the app (how deletion works).

04Your content & conduct

You and your group members enter group names, member names, expense entries, and personal-tracker entries. You keep ownership of that content and grant us the license needed to store it and show it to your group so the app can work. You are responsible for the content you add and confirm you have the right to add it.

You agree not to:

• post unlawful, hateful, harassing, or infringing content, or impersonate others;
• attempt to access, tamper with, or scrape other groups’ or users’ data;
• disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or circumvent limits or security of the service.

Groups are private and invite-only, but anyone with a group’s invite link can see a read-only preview of it, so share links only with people you want in the group. To report abusive content, email speeddevelop.dev@gmail.com; we may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

05Payments, UPI & settling up

Any real payment between you and your group happens outside Split Today. Where the app offers pay-via-UPI, it simply opens your own UPI app with details pre-filled — the payment is processed by that app and your bank, not by us. We don’t verify, guarantee, or become a party to any payment, and we’re not responsible for amounts, disputes, or errors in payments you make. Balances and settle-up suggestions are informational only.

06Premium & subscriptions

Split Today’s core features are free. Some features are part of Premium, a paid plan sold as an auto-renewing subscription or a one-time purchase through Google Play or the Apple App Store.

• Billing & renewal. Subscriptions auto-renew and are charged to your app-store account until you cancel, at the price shown at purchase. Cancel anytime in your Google Play or App Store account settings; access continues until the end of the paid period.
• Refunds. Purchases are handled by the app store, so refunds follow the store’s policy — request them through Google Play or Apple, not through us.
• Free-tier limits. The free plan includes limits (for example on how much you can create or how often you can use certain features). We may adjust features, limits, and pricing over time; we’ll give reasonable notice of material changes, and price changes never apply retroactively to a period you already paid for.
• Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription — cancel it in the app store as well.

07Third-party services

The app relies on third-party services (including Google, Supabase, and RevenueCat) to work, and may open other apps such as your UPI app. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms, and we’re not responsible for them. How data is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.

08Intellectual property

Split Today, its name, logo, design, and software are owned by Speed Develop and protected by law. These terms don’t give you any right to our branding, and you may not copy, resell, or create derivative works from the app except as allowed by law. Your own content remains yours.

09Availability & “as is”

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, free of charge for its core features. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service or error-free balances, and we may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Speed Develop is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, for lost data or profits, or for disputes between group members or errors in payments made outside the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Speed Develop harmless from claims, losses, and expenses arising out of content you post, your misuse of the app, or your breach of these terms, to the extent permitted by law.

12Termination

You can stop using Split Today and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms or use the app unlawfully. Provisions that by their nature should survive — such as content licenses, disclaimers, and liability limits — continue after termination.

13Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; when we do, we’ll change the “updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

14Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Where local consumer law gives you additional non-waivable rights, those rights still apply.
